Montepulciano that little grape that hangs out in all the cool places in Tuscany. Originally hailing from Abruzzo, Montepulciano came waltzing into another wine region and caused all sorts of trouble.Its a maddeningly cool and suave wine but also a rebel here in Australia. It shifts your perceptions of what Australian wine should be like. Montepulciano has proven to be a resiliant grape, offering high yields in even extreme conditions. It is also very fruit forward and drinks great young, making it no mystery why it is one of the most planted grape varieties in Italy.
