G7 stands for the 7th generation of the Scholz’s Family. In fact, this wine has been elaborated by Jack, Peter’s son.
Planted in 1969 by 5th generation Dr W.H `Bert` Scholz. This Grenache grows on sand over deep alluvial soil in a loop of the North Para River.
The cool gully breezes follows the North Para out of the hills and this is the reason why, the Willows wines are so specific.
Opens with lifted red fruits, lavender florals, and savoury spice.
The palate reveals red licorice and raspberry that progresses to more complex, savoury notes of earth, graphite and peppercorn spice. Structurally the tannins are ruffled, running long and even.
Poultry and terrines
It is already great to drink but will keep for up to 5 years.
