Gruner Veltliner, Macclesfield

History  

Longview is a stunning family owned Australian vineyard located just outside the historic township of Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. Set on undulating slopes reminiscent of old-world estates but unmistakably Australian, it has quickly established itself as one of the most awarded vineyards since its 2001 inaugural vintage.

Grüner Veltliner is a white wine grape variety from Austria that is particularly common in Lower Austria. Outside this country, it is little known but it is also found in some other parts of the world, recently it has been cultivated in small quantities in New Zealand and Australia.

Our collection of premium, small-batch wines that reflect the unique geology and climate of Macclesfield.The labels feature ethereal photographs of sculptures from our vineyard - hewn from Macclesfield pink marble. These images echo the undulating topography of the vineyard.
