Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

History

Arguably our most popular wine, all the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc fruit is sourced from cool climate vineyards in the Great Southern region of WA; predominately Mt Barker. For the 2022 vintage it’s 70 % Semillon, 30 % Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon was outstanding this vintage; the cooler season allowing for slower ripening and great flavour development. It has contributed the good palate weight with the SB adding the light herbaceousness. Harvesting at night, fermenting at cool temperatures, and bottling early ensures we retain maximum fruit flavour and freshness.

Color

Bright and clear with the tiniest hint of white gold.

Bouquet

Gently aromatic, this has delicate tropical fruit characters with some light passionfruit and ripe pear on the nose, all complexed with just a hint of cut grass.

Palate

Our Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and light with delicious light tropical fruit flavours and some sweet citrus and honeydew melon fruit characters. It has a very good palate weight and mouth feel with the light citrussy flavours contributing to its clean acid finish. Excellent drinking now, it would suit a wide range of foods or serve on its own. Best enjoyed as a young wine.
