Sauvignon Blanc

West Cape Howe

Mount Barker, Western Australia

Zeepaard Sauvignon Blanc

History

The fruit achieved optimal ripeness and flavour development without losing its natural acidity. As a result, we have whites that are fully ripe but with slightly higher acidities. All this Sauvignon Blanc is from the Langton vineyard, right beside the winery (= zero fruit miles!)

Color

Super bright and clear with the tiniest hint of green/gold.

Bouquet

Lovely fresh, ripe, Sauvignon characters of passionfruit and green melon, with just a hint of herbaceousness.

Palate

The palate is deliciously fresh and zesty with loads of citrusy flavours and a zingy acidity. Gorgeous fruit flavours of gooseberries and ‘greengage’ plums. Our 2018 SB is well flavoured but fresh and tight as the acidity gives the wine its good structure and length.

Food suggestions

Summer salad and crustaceans.

Cellaring

A wine to drink chilled to appreciate all its youth.
